Recap ("we", "us") operates recap.lifepower.pro. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. We keep it short and honest.
When you create an account we store your email address. As you use Recap we store the links you summarize and the resulting summaries (your history), your settings (language, followed channels), and basic usage counts (e.g. summaries per day) needed to run the free and Pro tiers. If you subscribe to Pro, payment is handled by PayPal; we never see or store your card details.
To provide the service: generate summaries, save your history, enforce plan limits, send the emails you opt into (channel alerts, news briefing, weekly podcast), and process subscriptions. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not show third-party ads that track you across the web.
To run Recap we send the necessary data to: Supabase (accounts and database), Google (Gemini), Groq and Supadata (to fetch transcripts and generate summaries), Resend (to send emails), PayPal (to process payments), and our hosting provider. These providers process data only to deliver their part of the service.
We use your browser's local storage to keep you signed in and remember preferences (like your chosen language and text size). We do not use advertising cookies.
We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete items from your history at any time, and you can ask us to delete your account and associated data by emailing us. If you're in a region with data-protection laws (e.g. GDPR), you may request access to or deletion of your data.
Recap is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
We may update this policy; we'll change the date above when we do. Continued use means you accept the current version.
